Live-in Care

Live in care is a 24-hour long-term service. We provide Live-in Care workers who will provide the assistance and support necessary to continue with a Service User’s chosen lifestyle in their own home. Live in care is an alternative to going into respite or going into a home.

The difference between live in care and respite or a care home is, the care you will receive will be personal centred and focused on you alone. Giving the service users and family peace of mind.

A live-in care package includes the below:

  • Personal care
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication administration and monitoring
  • Out and about
  • Housekeeping

Other tasks may include help to meet friends, keep in touch with family or perhaps walk a dog and companionship, and the security of having someone living with you. We ensure that the care worker is matched to the service user needs and requirements.

We do this by introducing the care worker before the package starts to ensure you are happy with the care worker.

We aim to use a paperless care note system, meaning you will have access to care notes online, on demand, 24/7 from where ever you are.

Be it at work or even sunning yourself on the beach, you will have ease of mind that everything is OK by logging onto our system and reading the care notes or contacting your family member through skype or FaceTime, all that you’ll need is internet access.

Dementia Care

Our team have undertaken a number of dementia/ Alzheimer’s courses to ensure we are equipped with the skills and resources to care and support your loved one who is dealing with Dementia/ Alzheimer’s.

We understand that receiving the diagnosis and accepting the changes you are seeing your loved one go through can be daunting, scary and heart breaking all at the same time.

We are here to both support the service user and their families to ensure the service user is able to remain at home with a service that meets their personal needs and support the family.

During the initial assessment, we will sit down together and run through the service user needs, whilst also identifying:

  • Triggers
  • Things which make them smile
  • Daily pattern
  • The order in which tasks should be completed. The above may seem minuscule, however they are relevant and necessary when caring for someone with Dementia/Alzheimer’s.CRC Healthcare will provide:
  • Care Workers who have experience in dementia/Alzheimer’s
  • Staff who have completed dementia/Alzheimer’s training
  • Plenty of stimulating activities
  • Support with social interaction

Meal Preparation

If assistance is needed with meal/fluid preparation – This can be included in your package or be the sole task in your package. We will build a care plan to your exact needs, including your likes and dislikes.

Care Workers will always offer choices, to ensure your dietary and nutritional needs are fully met.

  • Meal and menu planning
  • Grocery shopping
  • Preparing, cooking and serving meals
  • Special dietary restrictions
  • Assistance with eating
  • Feeding
  • Washing and putting away

All our staff are fully trained in food hygiene and prepare food on a cooker, in an oven and in a microwave.

Medication

Our care workers are trained and monitored to provide efficient medication administration. Medication is very important and is taken seriously by Hope Homecare Services. Medication administration is monitored daily by our electronic MARS (Medication administration record sheets).
There are 3 ways in which we can support you with medication administration:

1.Administer – We will decant the medication from it packaging, give you a glass of water or fluid of your choice and give you the medication to take. Topical medicines will be applied in the prescribed area by the care worker.

2.Assist – We will simply pass you the medication and a glass of water or fluid of your choice for you to take the medication. Topical creams, we will assist by opening it for you or whatever assistance is needed to suit you.

3.Prompt – We will prompt you to take your medication. We will do this by reminding you to take your medication. We can also provide vital assistance in:
  • Ordering of prescriptions
  • Liaising with chemists with ordering of medication
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Liaising with doctors/district nurses and other medical professionals
  • Monitoring of medications

Respite Care

We understand that care needs can change, and sometimes you need additional support in an emergency or so that your carer can take a break. We can provide Care Workers for a short break to allow the Service User’s family and carers to go on holiday, and know that their loved one is looked after, as an alternative to residential care.
Service Users may wish to use Respite Care to trial live-in care and see if it is right for them, perhaps as an alternative to residential care. We can deliver Care Workers for as little as 12 hours to cover whilst a regular carer has a short break.

Domestic

We understand that people receiving care may be unable to complete daily or weekly domestic tasks as they used to and need help. We are able to offer domestic cleaning and laundry as part of your package or solely.
We aim to ensure your environment and living areas are clean and in line with infection control.

We can set this up as part of your care package or as a cleaning package on its on to be completed in whatever intervals you request.
  • Hoovering
  • Dusting
  • Sweeping
  • Moping
  • Laundry (Washing and drying)
  • Ironing
  • Cleaning
